MuhammadAliNYWTS1It’s been more than 60 years since Muhammad Ali, then known as Cassius Clay, was introduced to the sport of boxing.

It was in the summer of 1954 that the 12-year-old future heavyweight champion was the victim of a theft, and reported it to a police officer who also happened to run a boxing gym.

Doug Proffitt of WHAS-11 has been researching details of the story and looking for the place where it all began, thought by some to be long gone.
He spoke with WFPL about what he found.
