Williams Attacks Abramson in New Ad

Republican gubernatorial candidate David Williams released a new campaign ad Tuesday that criticizes former Louisville Mayor Jerry Abramson, who is the running mate of Democratic Governor Steve Beshear in the fall election. The 30-second spot features the two men from previous Williams commercials talking about controversies from Abramson's tenure as mayor and his positions on gun control and abortion. Calling Abramson the "liberal from Louisville" it slams the lieutenant governor candidate for a scandal involving the city's now-defunct neighborhoods department.Check it out (h/t FatLip):A police report showed several people saying that Carol Butler, a special assistant to Abramson during his last term, made $85,000 annually despite rarely showing up for work. The probe was part of a larger investigation into the old neighborhoods department, which found Abramson's close friend and former agency director Melissa Mershorn, fabricated $368,660 in invoices and funneled money through outside companies to protect funding for popular events.
