Williams Front And Center At Western Kentucky Speeches

Kentucky Senate President David Williams was making the rounds over the weekend at Fancy Farm-related events. Williams attended several Republican events in western Kentucky, introducing U.S. Senate hopeful Rand Paul and firing up the troops.  At a rally in Calvert City Friday night, Williams predicted possible Republican victories in two Kentucky congressional races. “We might very well pick up a seat in Louisville or Lexington because there are a lot of people that are going to fall this year.  They’re going to leave the Congress because of illness and fatigue.  The people are sick and tired of them and they’re going to be leaving.  Now, they don’t know that yet, but they are going to be leaving.”Williams is widely believed to be testing the waters for a gubernatorial bid next year against incumbent Democratic Gov. Steve Beshear.  Among those being mentioned as possible running mates for Williams is Agriculture Commissioner and former UK basketball star Richie Farmer.
