Yarmuth Discusses Job Creation, Other Campaign Issues

Third District Congressman John Yarmuth of Louisville says if voters send him back to Capitol Hill for a third term, job creation will be his top priority. During an appearance Thursday on WFPL's "State of Affairs" program, the Democrat said the federal government needs to provide more incentives to create and expand small businesses."What we found with the big businesses, the mature businesses, as a general rule, is they figured out how to make more money with fewer people. Alcoa has laid off 30,000 people over the last six years. They have gone to Wall Street and bragged about the fact that they know how to make money without hiring those people back. So we know that's now where we have to look for jobs," he said.Republican Todd Lally is trying to unseat Yarmuth in next month's election. He was on "State of Affairs"last week.
